    On January 7th I purchased a sectional sofa from the Rooms to Go clearance center in Seffner, FL. I was told that delivery could not be arranged that week so we scheduled delivery to happen on January 18th. I was told that I would be called the night before with a 4 hour delivery window and could not request a time preference. I took the day off of work in anticipation of the delivery, arranged for my sofa to be donated and awaited my call. When I heard nothing on Wednesday I called that evening. The woman who answered the phone said she called everyone scheduled for delivery but checked my receipt to find out what happened. She was able to see that I had, in fact, paid for delivery but for some reason, had been put as a pickup. She had no explanation for the mistake and said she couldn't do anything since the truck had already been packed but would have a manager call me first thing in the morning on Thursday. Wanting to be proactive, I called myself several times starting at 9:30 but nobody answered the phone until 10:05 am. After explaining the situation to the woman who answered the phone, she said she would get the manager. She came back to the phone a short time later and said that the manager was on a conference call but he said he would refund my delivery costs and have it delivered Monday. I told her that was unacceptable, it needed to be delivered today, I have no sofa because mine was picked up thus morning, and I could not miss another day of work because of this. She took my name and number and said she would have him call me. I waited an hour and a half and when I didn't hear anything, called to speak to the manager again. He answered the phone by saying "Yeah" and after listening to me explain the situation, responded only by saying "I told her to tell you we would deliver it Monday. " At no time did he apologize or try to work out a solution to a situation that was entirely their fault and whose satisfactory resolution was entirely in their control. I should not have to be inconvenienced again because of a mistake made by you. There was no reason why he couldn't have attempted to do the right thing, even if coming up with a solution would have required a modicum of effort. I asked why he wasn't trying to help make this right and he said I could have it delivered Monday or get a refund. I was astounded by the lack of accountability shown by this "manager" James and was taken aback by his complete and total lack of responsibility or decency. I now see by reading reviews online that I am not the only person who has experienced this from James. I called the corporate offices and spoke to Amy Perez. She was sympathetic to my plight and said she would get in touch with James' boss and would be following up with me within the hour with a solution. She never did. I have heard nothing more from her. I had to drive to the store and pay over $250 for a moving company to deliver my sectional. Beware! **UPDATE** I did contact customer service via email and several days later they responded to my complaint by saying sorry but tough luck. They refused to do anything to make the situation better or reimburse me for the money I had to pay because of their mistake. I am incredibly disappointed with the lack of customer service Rooms to Go exhibited and urge everyone to beware when doing business with this company. I'm sure James is still the manager and that alone should show how little they care about their customers. Look at how far back complaints about him go!

    Worst experience. Tried to purchase two small stools that were in one box and ready to go (probably 15 lbs). The sales lady told me not to move the box, but she placed my order and was pleasant. The lady who took my payment looked bored, but was tolerable. She told me to go to the loading area and someone would be there to assist. I went to the loading area and no one was around. I walked into the store found my small box and picked it up to leave. I was approached by a man with a radio who told me to stop and put the box down. He told me it needed to be signed out and that I could have hurt myself picking up this 15 lb box. I explained that I had paid for the item and that it was light weight. He then told me someone needed to come from some other area to check it out? I told him to check it out himself and he said there were people who had specific jobs and his job was not to check it out. I waited a few minutes and no one arrived. Needless to say I left the package next to my truck and drove off. He just looked at me as I left and said "don't you want a refund." $100 I lost at this crummy place, what a joke, and never again. I was on my lunch break and was hoping to pick up the item and get back to work, so i didn't have time to go back inside and get the refund.
